EDITORIAL STANDARD

Two rankings. Zero ambiguity.

RankVII keeps source-based scores and public opinion separate. Switch the order, inspect every metric and see exactly how much evidence supports each result.

Source & method
01

System score

A normalized 0–100 result built from visible metrics.

02

User score

A 1–10 community average with vote count and distribution.

03

Confidence

Source quality is shown separately from the score.

How scoring works

Every point is traceable.

Two independent judges look at your photo. The look judge scores eight factors about you; the photo judge scores seven factors about the picture. Each factor gets a score out of 10.

Appearance = weighted average of its factors (facial harmony 30%, eyes & expression 15%, skin 12%, hair 12%, grooming 10%, style 10%, physique & posture 6%, presence 5%) plus a holistic adjustment of at most ±0.5 with a stated reason. Factors that cannot be judged from the photo are dropped and the weights re-balanced.

Photo = weighted average of lighting 25%, composition 20%, sharpness 15%, angle & pose 15%, background 10%, colour 10%, authenticity 5%.

Final = 70% appearance + 30% photo, shown as a rank from I to VII. The head judge then writes the verdict from that evidence — it does not change the numbers.

Calibration: 5.0 is an ordinary adult on an average day; 7+ stands out in a room; 8.5+ is striking. Most people land between 4.5 and 7.5.

Privacy

Nothing to store, nothing to leak.

Your photo is resized in your browser (metadata stripped), sent over HTTPS to our server and forwarded to the AI provider for analysis. When the result is ready, the photo and the result are stored and shown publicly on the wall until you delete them with your private delete link (also available on the result screen). There are no accounts.

We keep anonymous, aggregate counters (how many analyses ran) and short-lived, hashed rate-limit entries to prevent abuse. Votes and comments on the wall are stored with a random visitor id, never a name. The AI provider processes the image under its own API terms.

Only upload photos of yourself or people who have agreed. Adults only.

While the AI works, its written result waits in a temporary server file for a few minutes at most — until your browser collects it — and is then deleted. The photo itself is never written to disk.
